1. Does your university have an agreement with Mackenzie? Not all universities do. Check the list of partner institutions. If your university has an agreement (including ERASMUS), you pay no tuition. Otherwise, you'll pay full tuition rates.
2. Have you been officially nominated? Your home university must provide an official nomination letter signed by the head of your international relations office. Without this, your application won't be processed. For partner institutions the student only needs to wait. Mackenzie will contact you to initiate the process. Free Movers need to ask their home university to provide such letter.
Once you have been nominated, you must fill out this form on a computer in BLACK CAPITAL LETTERS, no blank sections allowed.
Access it HERE
What goes in each section:
A: Program details
B: Your personal information
C: Academic information
D: Your previous education
E: Languages you speak
F: How you'll fund your studies (scholarship, family, etc.)
G: Checklist of supporting documents you'll attach
We estimate you would spend no more than an hour to finish filling it.
The next form you need to prepare is the LA
Access it HERE
This is your academic contract with Mackenzie. You list exactly which courses you want to take.
How to prepare it:
- Go to the Mackenzie portal and search for "Matriz Curricular" (curriculum matrix) of your course
- Write down the course code, name, credits, and hours for each subject
- Choose 4–5 courses
- Fill in all this information in the Learning Agreement template
- Send it to the CIA (College International Advisor) of your college for approval
The CIA is a full-time professor in each of our colleges and is your official academic contact during your exchange.
You also need to fill the DR, a legal document you download, print, fill in with your details, and sign by hand. Without an original signature, it won't work.
Access it HERE
Finally, you need to prepare an ID photo (passport-style) and merge the following documentation into one PDF:
- Nomination letter (from Step 1 — your university sends this)
- Motivation letter (why do you want to study at Mackenzie? You write and sign it)
- Recommendation letter (a professor from your university signs it)
- Passport copy (the page with your photo and number)
- Curriculum Vitae
- Academic transcript (your "Transcript of Records" — request from your university)
Combine you personal documentation with the AFAM, LA and DR into a single PDF file and send to: incoming@mackenzie.br
Don't send documents separately or in stages.
You'll receive automatic confirmation within 24 hours.
You do nothing else until you're accepted. Mackenzie reviews your application (this can take weeks). When we approve you, you receive:
- Letter of Acceptance
- Instructions for your visa
- Instructions for mandatory health insurance
