College International Advisor

Who are the College International Advisors (CIA)?

They are specialized professors appointed by the Rector to handle all international demands within a specific academic department or college. They act as the local bridge between the central International Office (COI) and the specific needs of each study program.

Their Role for Incoming International Students

If you are a student coming from abroad, the College International Advisor is your main academic point of contact at Mackenzie. Their responsibilities include:

Academic Mentorship: They help you build your final Study Plan, ensuring the classes you want to take are available and appropriate for your level.
Progress Tracking: They monitor your academic activities throughout your stay and help authorize any necessary changes to your initial plan.
Local Support: They provide guidance on how your specific college operates, helping you navigate the local academic culture.

Their Role for International Universities

These advisors ensure that cooperation is practical and academically sound:

Partnership Development: They identify and propose new exchange agreements that align with their department's strengths.
Quality Control: They work with the International Office to evaluate the academic compatibility of potential new partner institutions.
Promotion: They help showcase their specific programs (like Law, Engineering, or Architecture) to the global community to encourage more student and faculty exchange.
