PPGA - Selection Process Phases

MASTER’S AND DOCTOR’S PROGRAMS

 

The PPGA selection process for the Master’s and Doctor’s programs includ three phases, as follows.

Candidates do not submit advance research project.

 

PHASE ONE – SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE TEST

The specific knowledge test involves questions that candidates must answer on the literature for the selected PPGA Research Track. Each candidate may only take a test for one Research line.

Notice: No reference materials (books, doctrine, legislation) will be allowed for the written test. No test review will be allowed. The election commission’s decision is sovereign and cannot be appealed.

 

PHASE TWO – TEST OF PROFICIENCY IN A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

The test of proficiency in a foreign language for the Master’s and Doctor’s program is a test of proficiency in English that is required and effective for ranking purposes.

 A single copy of a conventional, non-electronic, one-language dictionary without a glossary for Portuguese terms will be allowed. No test review will be allowed. 

Tests involve translating texts into Portuguese.

 

PHASE THREE – INTERVIEW

Applicants approved in the specific knowledge test will take part in this phase. PPGA will schedule the interviews after publication of the list of applicants in the previous phases on its Website.
