Summary of Course Structure – Master’s Degree

The Master’s Degree course from the Graduate Program of Science and Geospatial Applications has duration of 24 months, divided into 4 semesters as follows:

24 credits: Courses (1 mandatory and 5 optional);

4 credits: scientific methodology;

12 credits: research, qualifying examination and dissertation;

2 credits: planned activities (research seminars, tutorial studies, presentation at scientific meetings, article publication);

Publication requirement of at least one co-authored article in international refereed journal of relevance.

Planned Activities – Master’s Degree

Students must complete two (2) credit units corresponding to mandatory planned activities related to indexed scientific publication: publishing articles in journals, books, book chapter, tutorial studies, research seminars, presenting papers at scientific meetings etc.

Summary of Course Structure – Doctorate’s Degree

The Doctorate’s degree from the Graduate Program of Science and Geospatial Applications has duration of 48 months, divided into 8 semesters as follows:

16 credits: courses (1 mandatory and 3 optional);

26 credits: research, qualifying examination and thesis work;

10 credits: planned activities (research seminars, tutorial studies, presentation at scientific meetings);

10 credits: academic work (publication of book and / or book chapter and / or research articles and paper presentation at scientific meetings);

Publication requirement of at least one article as the main author in an international refereed journal of professional relevance.

Programmed Activities – Doctorate’s Degree

Students must complete ten (10) credit units corresponding to mandatory planned activities related to indexed scientific production: publishing articles in journals, books, book chapter, tutorial studies, research seminars, presenting papers at scientific meetings etc.
