We are excited to announce the São Paulo School of Advanced Science on Social and Affective Neuroscience (SPSAN), which  is organised by the Social and Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory at the Center for Health and Biological Sciences of Mackenzie Presbyterian University and funded by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) and its Sao Paulo School of Advanced Science program (grant no. 2017/17414-3).

The SPSAN will take place from August 20-31 2018 at Mackenzie Presbyterian University, Sao Paulo, Brazil. We are delighted to be able to offer this outstanding opportunity to eligible researchers with expenses like travel costs and accommodation covered thanks to FAPESP

This event will present a unique opportunity for 100 selected undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as early career researchers (at Post-doc level) from all over the world to be part of 10 knowledge-enriching days of theoretical and practical learning. The aim is to deepen the understanding of social and affective neuroscience and learn more about how the current state of research can explain phenomena we experience in our daily lives as social beings. Please refer to the 'Selection Criteria' section if you are interested in participating to check for eligibility. Information on how to apply can be found under 'Application'

The SPSAN  will entail courses, talks, and hands-on activities delivered by national and international leading researchers from the field of Social and Affective Neuroscience, who will apply their expertise to explain aspects of social interaction from our daily life. Additionally, the attendees will conduct a small-scale study and present their projects in a poster sessions. More information on the scheduled activities can be found under 'Programme'.

Not only will the SPSAN provide an excellent chance to the selected attendees to present and discuss their research and research interests and receive feedback from the expert scientists, but will also offer a networking opportunity with a prospect of creating lasting contacts to peers and experts from the field. The SPSAN can be considered a hub for cooperative learning, promoting rich and plentiful discussions, and potential new research collaborations.

We look forward to receiving your application and meeting you at SPSAN!
